Ladies September 2014 Race Report

LADIES SEPTEMBER RACES

LITTLEDOWN 5 Web site
It all started with our very own Littledown 5 where we had just 4 ladies running as we needed to enter a team for the DRRL, most others very kindly gave up their time to support the club and did a wonderful job of marshalling :-)

97th     Helen Gilbert             35.55
102nd  Jenny Beckett           36.19
129th   Heather Khoshnevis   37.54
274th   Janet Hooper          1.06.41     (Janet was the sweeper!  - 274 finishers!)

MEDOC MARATHON Web site
A definite favourite with many of our club members who return each year....what could be the attraction you may ask.....Well, obviously its in a beautiful place...its always fun as everyone gets dressed in the allocated fancy dress theme.....but I think the biggest attraction to this race is the many many fuel stations ladened with Wine!!!!  I haven't been able to locate any sensible results for this one, but listed below are our ladies who attended and most of them just finished within the 6 plus cut off time!!  I wonder what kept them en route!!!!

Kathy Fooks
Serena Fooks
Naomi Bennett
Amanda Shepheard
Tracey Lander

DINGLE MARATHON - Ireland
This unique run travels around the spectacular Dingle peninsula. You will pass much beautiful scenery, idyllic villages and historical sites.

Julie White             3.58.10    1st F50

The unique course of the JUNGFRAU MARATHON  - Switzerland Web site

The world's most beautiful course! A scenery which you can't find anywhere else. The course starts in Interlaken and goes into the Jungfrau Region via Lauterbrunnen, Wengen up to the Kleine Scheidegg with its famous mountains Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. A challenge for every runner!

Usually there is quite a large group going to this one from Littledown, but this year, it was just one lady...she said it was extremely tough!!

Louise Harper         5.12

HOBOURNE 5 Web site
A nice local 5 miler, well organised and now been taken over by Christchurch Runners, another race we would have lost due to organisers of many years retiring, but its back and just as good!  We had.... a huge turnout of men and ladies....anybody would have thought we had club champ points CC riding on it! But we didn't, we were there for pure love!!!!  Also I noticed many of our new lady members here and that was so encouraging for the future, and what a speedy lot you all are!!!  Well done.....Littledown, you certainly left your mark at this race!

18th     Joanna Thomsett              35.50    2nd lady overall  - 1st Snr
21st     Helen Gilbert                    35.55    3rd Lady overall
24th     Jenny Beckett                  36.59
26th     Heather Khoshnevis           38.19    1st F50
29th     Kristina Byrne                   39.00
30th     Mandie Wales                   39.08
34th     Trisha Reilly                     40.53                  (65 finishers)

Well that's all the information I have for September...as I write this it is a very cold windy wet monday morning following the wonderful Bournemouth Marathon Festival Web site weekend which was just amazing...so you will have to wait until October report for this one!

Bye for now...happy Autumn racing...or maybe its winter now!   Have fun on the run!
